What: WSXPO17!  WIKISPEED EXPO 2017 Global Gathering!
A celebration of WIKISPEED products, especially the cars, the people who own them, and the people who helped design and build them.

1) Everyone with a WIKISPEED car gets to be a hero for a day. Showing off their cars, and the decisions they made building it. Either remote through video chat or even recorded and produced video montages, or even better yet in Person! We’ll rent a race track (or try to get one loaned to us for free) for a few hours that day in Seattle, so those that can travel will share the awesome of each other’s cars together. The goal is community and learning, but we’ll have track time too.

2) Innovation Cup: We are intending to have a race track instructor to show owners around their cars. We are also attempting to have a professional racing driver available for those who would like to see what their cars can do. The fastest lap completed in a WIKISPEED car will be crowned the Innovation Cup champion for the year, and we’ll film and post the details of what modules are used so that other WIKISPEED owners can make their cars faster if they like. The winning car, car owner, car driver (not necessarily the same person), and anyone nearby will very likely be sprayed with champagne, which will be awesome.

3) DJ Dance Party: We’ll attempt to have a live DJ, or at least a custom playlist, to create a playful and energetic after party as we smoke all the legal pot in Washington State or whatever people like.

4) Marketplace: See the newest modules from MicroFactories globally, buy them, swap or sell your modules that you don’t wish to keep as spares.

Who: Anyone who likes WIKISPEED, and/or is interested in Scrum in Hardware, Lean, eXtreme Manufacturing, Open Source, and Agile Design methods.

Q: Does it cost anything?
A: Just a little bit. Our aim will be to cover the expenses of hosting the day +25% to fund WIKISPEED.  TBD.  We’ll try to keep it really cheap so that the most significant expense is getting yourself here.  Attendance will be free for WIKISPEED car owners and one guest if they can bring their car.  Because the more WIKISPEED cars here the more fun and awesome it will be for everyone.

Q: What if my car is just a frame or not complete?
A: These cars iterate, so none of them are ever complete!  Having a chassis on wheels counts as a car!

Q: What if I want to sell a new module I’ve developed?
A: For 2017 the Marketplace is totally free to use, come on over and show off your prototype module or poster for a module idea that you would like to find co-creators to blast-off together!
